It seems like the year is already rolling out from under me… Last two weeks I spent in Seattle.  We had the Vista TAP Airlift & that was great to meet some of the others who are working to make this next Windows the best ever.  Had a great dinner with long time friends, and enjoyed a few more trips to the local coffe shops.

So, it is back home & working remotely – which works well most of the time.  Makes dragging big files off of Microsoft corpnet a little time consuming, but… it also keeps me from jumping on the latest bits which in itself can be time wasting… after all, most of the code I am working with is somewhat obviously beta quality!

But, I can also work from my son’s coffee shop w/the wireless lan that I put in there, so… I get to work while enjoying the company of my son (and sometimes daughter who works there as well) , a French Press of java, & still get work done…  well… this was just a quick post to get something – anything… blogging – how do the daily bloggers find the time??

So… the site has been down for awhile as it was hacked over the holidays!  Finally got it back up & at the same time upgraded to Wordpress 2.0!  Back to regular blogging…

As part of my job with Entirenet, I am often in Seattle (usually two weeks out of a month). This week has been a typical week, with an uncommon twist. I regularly am in town or on the road presenting technical training to Microsoft staff & partners. This week we were doing a 4-day “airlift” for 150+ Deployment partners on the latest methodologies available for installing & managing Windows XP & Office 2003. Typical except for this time, I got a couple of job offers while in town. It seems that I have made a bit of a name for myself in the tech community around deployment, and am suddenly in high demand… cool! The jobs that I have been offered look to be so interesting that I probably will have to really consider them. News at 11!

In an amazing feat of legerdemain, Microsoft announced significant new directions for the company. The web is buzzing with speculation & wonder as to what this could all ultimately mean. Sites such as Robert Scoble’s “Scobelizer” Blog; and Steve Gilmor’s “InfoRouter” are saying things like “Office Live or Office Dead is for the jury…”

Watch this story, folks… things are going to get ugly!
