What can I say? Zoka Coffee – mecca to coffee lovers in Seattle & home to winners in the annual Specialty Coffee Association’s barrista contests – I’m here having a delicious latte before going to late church service at Mars Hill.
The place is packed even at this early hour, and the coffee is GREAT! A real treat! I am surely going to bring home a bag so that I can enjoy it & share it with my lovely wife, Jan. This is one of the many reasons I love getting out to Seattle. Besides the obvious nature of my job that allows me to work with some of the smartest people in the software industry, and besides working with the next version of Windows, it is the fact that Seattle is so manifestly DIFFERENT than the little town of Decatur, AL where I live. I just wish that Jan & my kids could be here to share it with me. That is one BIG hole in these trips – the absence of those I love.
So… for now… back to the cup of Zoka, and then off to worship! Thank God for coffee, and also for a local congregation of his people to share in worship.
